Customer Service Order #2387448
Ventilators, Quantity 100,000
Time: 8:20amMy Supervisor is on vacation. my Director can not be reached, her cell phone message box is full. Full?! Yah, another day at a minimum wage job helping customers, with their orders. I did not know that we even made Ventilators, what ever that is.
Customer Service, I am learning what it is. In my opinion, and by listening to others; Customer Service is a very simple task. Say hi when the customer walks in, smile, make eye contact, say the customers name at least three times; through out the order process. Fill the order. We get all kinds of customers, and we get the ones that you know what I am talking about. It starts with, “can I have this for free?” I do not know, but that is something I do not feel comfortable smiling too. My reply is to ask what they do for a living, and ask for some of that stuff free. They generally recoil and say, “no.” I smile back and say, “that is not good customer service.” Usually the conversation moves on from there.
I get a text message back from the Director. I am to walk this order through. She states that it is a government contract, and her bosses rely heavily on government contracts. Well, this is different, I will not be watching the clock all day today. A good thing about this task is that it looks like I will get my steps in today.
